Centre for European Perspective (CEP), founded by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, assists the countries of the Western Balkans and other countries which share a European perspective, in their efforts to join the European Union (EU) by transferring Slovenian best practices, experiences and practical know-how.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Slovenia granted a mandate to the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) to prepare and conduct Core Course for civil servants to be seconded in international civilian missions. The Core Course, based on EU standards, will be held from 8 to 21 November 2010. It will cover six thematic areas - from general knowledge of civilian crisis management and the role of various actors in civil missions to the environment in which the missions take place, work on the ground, safety at work and management of stress. esdpSlovenia in cooperation with Austria, Germany and Hungary established the “ESDP Training Programme for SAP Countries” in an effort to keep the countries participating in the Stabilisation and Association Process informed about the developments of the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). The Training Programme, designed to stretch over the period of three years and encompassing four modules annually, is aimed at providing civilian and military officials from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia with a thorough knowledge on ESDP history, policy, structure and operations.
