Bled Strategic Forum 2009: Night-Owl Session

"The Strengthening of Economic Integration of the Western Balkans on the Way to Recovery"

night_owlThe Night-Owl Session addressed the question of business opportunities and trade cooperation among Western Balkan countries as well as increased economic cooperation with other European countries (EU, EFTA and Turkey). Prof. Dr Andrej Kumar of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana was a chair to the debate among Dr Besim Beqaj, President of the Kosova Chamber of Commerce, Dr Jelica Minić, Deputy Secretary General and Head of Expert Pool at Regional Cooperation Council in Sarajevo, Dr Višnja Samardžija, Head of Department for European Integration at the Institute for International Relations from Zagreb and Mr Marko Voljč, Chief Executive Officer of K&H Bank Ltd. from Budapest as well as the other participants of the late session, which took place in a very relaxed atmosphere.

CEP organizes Training of consular agents from Bosnia and Herzegovina

konzularni_agentiCenter for European perspective (CEP) hosts Training of consular agents from Bosnia and Herzegovina on the introduction of biometric passports. Two-day training has been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia in cooperation with the Center for European Perspective. The training programme is about Slovenia assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting the standards for visa liberalization.

Intercultural Challenge - "Call for Project Proposals"

medkulturni_izzivCentre for European Perspective (CEP) is preparing the project "Intercultural Challenge" which is planned in the framework of the cycle "Educational Reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina". The project starts in September 2009. Deadline for Proposal Submissions is 27 October 2009.

The training course on international negotiations and public speaking skills entitled »The International negotiations – Techniques and Skills« has been organized by Center for European Perspective (CEP) and Ministry of Public Services of Republic of Kosovo.

Presentation of the book series "Studia Diplomatica Slovenica" at the premises of the Slovenian Scientific Institute in Vienna

knjiga_dunajOn 22nd September 2009, the Project Group for Studying the Diplomatic History of Central and South-East Europe presented the book series "Studia Diplomatica Slovenica" at the premises of the Slovenian Scientific Institute in Vienna. The book series was presented by the Center for European Perspective in cooperation with the Slovenian Scientific Institute, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Vienna and the Scientific Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU).

Legal and customs experts from EU, EFTA and Western Balkans on implementation and potential effects of SAP+ cumulation

sapWorkshop on Implementation and Potential Effects of SAP+ Cumulation began today in Bečići, Montenegro. The Workshop is organised by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in cooperation with CEFTA Presidency – Montenegro and CEFTA Secretariat. It will take place from 6-8 October 2009.

CEP hosted directors of three Chinese research institutes

kitajciThe representatives of three eminent Chinese institutes, namely Institute of European Studies, Centre of EU Studies and Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies visited Centre for European Perspective (CEP). All three institutes operate under the auspices of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) from Beijing.

Ivo Vajgl, Member of the European Parliament visited CEP

Slovene Member of the European Parliament, Ivo Vajgl (Zares/Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) came for a working visit to Centre for European Perspective (CEP). The institution and its work was presented to him by CEP management and he was also asked for help in looking for support and additional financial resources for the European Group on Training (EGT) consortium at the European parliament.

Training on public speaking skills and international negotiations techniques stared in Skopje

makedonijaToday in Skopje started a training organized by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP), titled Public speaking skills and international negotiations techniques. It was opened by Zvonimir Popovic, director of Directorate for Public Diplomacy, Diplomatic Education and Analytical Research at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Slobodan Šešum, economic advisor at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Macedonia and Andreja Dolničar Jeraj, CEP program director.

CEP Programme Director visited Serbia

Programme Director of the Centre for European Perspective (CEP), Andreja Dolničar Jeraj has visited Serbia today. At the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs she had a meeting with Head of Department for International Cooperation and European Integration, Dražan Marović and she also visited border crossing point between Serbia and Croatia, Batrovci.
