8-9 June 2026

Ljubljana and Jable Castle, Mengeš, Slovenia

The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, in cooperation with the Peace Operations Training Centre, will host the First Central, Eastern Europe and the Balkans Roundtable on UN Peace Operations, dedicated to discussing regional perspectives on strengthening support for United Nations peace operations and advancing the role of regional peacekeeping training centres.

The event will bring together representatives of participating Member States, regional training centres, United Nations entities, and partner institutions to exchange views on future participation in UN peace operations, reflect on lessons learned from recent missions such as MINUSMA and UNIFIL, and explore ways to strengthen regional cooperation, operational readiness, and capacity development. The roundtable will also examine the evolving role and long-term sustainability of regional peacekeeping training centres and their contribution to preparing military, police, and civilian personnel for future deployments.

Further information, including the Concept paper, the detailed agenda and logistical arrangements, will follow in due course.
