International Humanitarian and Criminal Law: Fourth Edition of the Training Successfully Completed At Jable Castle
Between 17 and 18 September 2025, the fourth training on international humanitarian and criminal law was held at Jable Castle, organised by POTC in cooperation with the Legal Affairs Sector of the Slovenian Armed Forces General Staff.
The training, intended for legal advisers, was designed as a platform for the exchange of opinions and perspectives on key topics, which were presented by experts in the field. This year’s topics were presented by representatives of the Specialised State Prosecutor’s Office, the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor, the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, and the Institute of Criminology.
The training topics included:
• collecting evidence from battlefields,
• criminal law regulation of the use of force by the Slovenian Armed Forces,
• military chapters of the law of the sea,
• case studies from Gaza,
• legal aspects of warfare in space.
The training offered valuable insights and provided an opportunity for professional discussion on current issues in international law.
