EUSAIR Communication Academy

In 2022 CEP, in cooperation with the EUSAIR Facility Point Lead Partner, organised EUSAIR Communication Academy – a communication capacity-building programme for EUSAIR Government communicators, EUSAIR key implementers, and youth participants.

The programme was developed in line with the goals of the EUSAIR communication strategy and it aimed to raise awareness, increase motivation, and change the attitude of the key EUSAIR stakeholders. The overarching goal was to empower the participants, give them knowledge and practical skills for effective internal as well as external communication and raise awareness of the Strategy.

The programme was divided into three interlinked modules. The first two modules took place online and focused more on theoretical aspects of effective communication. The third and final module took place in Bled, Slovenia in October and focused on applying the theoretical skills to practical examples.

The participants were divided into two groups – the first group included various EUSAIR stakeholders – people who deal with EUSAIR daily on a policy level. The second group included government communicators from the ministries involved in the EUSAIR. By pairing them together, we joined people who know the content of the Strategy and the people who have the capacity to communicate it broader than ministries. This was upgraded with workshops that improved the communication skills of both groups. The second group of participants were selected, interested young participants from the EUSAIR region. Empowered by the new communication knowledge, skills, and tools, at the end of the Young EUSAIR Communication Academy, they developed eight different EUSAIR digital campaigns.
