Mengeš, 19 October 2026 – The Centre for European Perspective (CEP) wishes to inform its partners of a recent cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to certain financial records.
We take the security of our information and the trust of our partners seriously. While the circumstances of the incident are being assessed, we are taking precautionary steps to minimise potential risks and ensure that our partners are appropriately informed.
What partners should be aware of
The information involved may potentially be misused to create fraudulent communications appearing to originate from CEP or its representatives.
Such communications could include requests to change bank account details, modify payment instructions, or redirect financial transfers. They may also refer to existing partnerships or previous transactions to appear legitimate.
We wish to emphasise that CEP’s bank account details remain unchanged and our operations continue as normal.
What we recommend
We encourage all partners to remain vigilant and take the following precautions:
- Carefully review any unexpected communication concerning payments or banking information.
- Independently verify any request to change payment details or transfer funds, using established contact information rather than details provided in the message.
- Exercise caution even when a message refers to a familiar contact, an existing partnership, or a previous transaction.
- Contact CEP directly if you receive any suspicious communication claiming to originate from our organisation.
Our response
CEP is treating this incident seriously and taking appropriate steps to address the situation and reduce the risk of potential misuse of information.
We will provide further updates should new information require additional action by our partners.
We appreciate your understanding, vigilance, and continued trust.
