It was in 2018, during the Young Bled Strategic Forum, that I first engaged with the Centre for European Perspective (CEP). Since then, I have had the chance to both cooperate with and closely follow the work of CEP. Slovenia plays a key role in connecting the Western Balkans with the European Union, and CEP has positioned itself as an important actor in that process. From supporting young people and new ideas to initiating meaningful platforms for dialogue, CEP has consistently contributed to building trust and understanding in the region and with the region. At the forum “BiH’s Visionary Voices: Leading the Change” , I gained insights into leadership, governance and social change. The interactive workshops and discussions have significantly influenced my approach to political and social engagement and challenged me to reflect on the principles I stand by. Cooperating with POTC since 2020 in the framework of various training programmes for peace operations personnel, police and military as well as governmental officials from different parts of the world on topics such as the Climate Security, Protection of Civilians and Gender in Peace Operations, I have consistently admired POTC’s professional execution and the team’s genuine dedication to transforming complex challenges into success stories while creating an engaging learning environment. It was an extremely rewarding experience to contribute to past mentorship visits of Ukrainian municipal officials to Slovenia.
