Enhancing European Perspective

I have had the privilege of moderating sessions at the Bled Strategic Forum on several occasions, and it remains one of the most consequential and thoughtfully curated gatherings in global affairs. The Centre for European Perspectives team distinguishes itself through professionalism, precision, and genuine care – from conceptual planning to on-site logistics. Their clarity of purpose and respect for every participant create an environment where meaningful dialogue flourishes. Working with them is not only seamless but deeply rewarding, and the Forum itself continues to set the standard for impactful diplomacy and convening excellence.

It was in 2018, during the Young Bled Strategic Forum, that I first engaged with the Centre for European Perspective (CEP). Since then, I have had the chance to both cooperate with and closely follow the work of CEP. Slovenia plays a key role in connecting the Western Balkans with the European Union, and CEP has positioned itself as an important actor in that process. From supporting young people and new ideas to initiating meaningful platforms for dialogue, CEP has consistently contributed to building trust and understanding in the region and with the region. Looking at the think tank scene in Slovenia, CEP truly stands out as a gem of research quality, a platform to connect, and an institution that serves both Slovenian and European best interests.

The mentoring and support of Slovenian communities and European partners has played a vital role in our recovery, even now during the war. We are working together to create jobs, and Slovenian partners are helping to rebuild the lives of Ukrainian citizens in our communities.

At the forum “BiH’s Visionary Voices: Leading the Change” , I gained insights into leadership, governance and social change. The interactive workshops and discussions have significantly influenced my approach to political and social engagement and challenged me to reflect on the principles I stand by. The opportunity to learn from real-world leaders like former Slovenian President Borut Pahor was impactful and inspiring.

Cooperating with POTC since 2020 in the framework of various training programmes for peace operations personnel, police and military as well as governmental officials from different parts of the world  on topics such as the  Climate Security, Protection of Civilians and  Gender in Peace Operations,  I have consistently admired POTC’s professional execution and the team’s genuine dedication to transforming complex challenges into success stories while creating an engaging learning environment. It is always a pleasure to contribute to the POTC mission of engineering influence and building capacity for a more stable and secure world.The diverse participant base always brings new perspectives on the issues of peace and security and gives POTC trainings a significant advantage by enriching the discussions and the learning experience.

It was an extremely rewarding experience to contribute to past mentorship visits of Ukrainian municipal officials to Slovenia. Their drive, dedication and ambition to do their very best for local development and a better life for their people were truly inspiring. We explored several significant fields together and walked the necessary steps together in order to reach feasible and sustainable solutions. I am proud to see the projects we developed lay the foundation for lasting, meaningful change.
