Third Personal Security Training for Diplomatic Personnel Successfully Concluded
Peace Operations Training Centre (POTC), in cooperation with the Security Planning Division of the Security, Real Estate and Logistics Service of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, successfully conducted the Personal Security Training for diplomatic personnel on 3 June 2026 at Jable Castle. The training was attended by 55 participants.
The training was intended for professional diplomats deployed by the Republic of Slovenia to countries with a low security risk and who had no prior knowledge of personal security. Participants were introduced to security and health preparations prior to deployment, security of diplomatic missions and personal security, security risk assessment, and procedures for dealing with changing security situations, including relocation and evacuation.
The programme also covered the use of public and private transport, route planning, selection of safe accommodation, family security, and response procedures in situations involving active shooter incidents, civil unrest, terrorist attacks, and crime. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying security threats, responding appropriately to detected risks, and reporting security-related incidents.
The training would not have been possible without the support of the Ministry of the Interior and the specialised police lecturers, whose expertise significantly contributed to the successful implementation of the programme.
With the knowledge gained during the training, participants will be better prepared for safe and responsible work in diplomatic environments both at home and abroad.
