SLOVENIAN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION
CEP is the official provider of Slovenia’s international development cooperation and assistance to South-East European countries in order to support their economic, social and political development. We have a track record of over 150 successfully implemented projects throughout the region.
CEP is currently (2025-2026) implementing five Slovenian development cooperation projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Ukraine. The development cooperation projects are financed by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
ONGOING PROJECTS
Bosnia and Herzegovina – ENTER: CHANGE
Bosnia and Herzegovina faces severe brain drain due to poor socio-economic conditions and corruption. The Enter Change project empowers young politicians to foster democratic governance, promote systemic change, and support the country’s long-term development.
Advancing the Nursing and Midwifery Education and Profession in the Republic of North Macedonia
Slovenia and North Macedonia launched a bilateral project to align nursing and midwifery education with EU standards, enhance legal and institutional frameworks, empower stakeholders, and establish regulation to improve professional recognition and healthcare quality.
Strengthening the Capacities for Financial Investigations in Montenegro
Montenegro is advancing reforms in the rule of law and anti-corruption, with support from Slovenia to strengthen financial investigation capacities, improve asset confiscation procedures, and enhance institutional cooperation for a more effective fight against economic crime.
Recovery and Reconstruction in Ukraine
Recovery and Reconstruction in Ukraine require political support and strong engagement on the part of the international community. Our Programme, launched in 2025, addresses the key sectors related to reconstruction and development, where Slovenian knowledge and experience are highly applicable both in enabling sustainable development and stimulating economic growth in Ukraine.
