Successful Conclusion of the pilot Personal Security Training for Diplomatic Staff held on May 29th, 2024
Peace Operations Training Centre (POTC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Security Planning Division of the Security, Property Management and Logistics Service, has successfully conducted a pilot Personal Security Training for diplomatic staff. The training took place on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at Jable Castle.
Peace Operations Training Center (POTC) has conducted the first personal security training designed for all professional diplomats deployed by the Republic of Slovenia in countries with a low-security risk and with no prior knowledge of personal security.
The training was attended by altogether 22 participants, who gained basic knowledge on identifying various security threats, understanding the basics of security procedures and protocols in the diplomatic missions, familiarising themselves with the basics of dealing with changing security situations in the diplomatic mission and on route, identifying surveillance activities, applying measures to reduce security risks, and methods to reduce stress in high-stress situations.
POTC would like to express gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the motivated participants, and the expert trainers who made the training an overall success. We look forward to the further development of the training content with the feedback gained and lessons learned.
