EUROPEAN DIGITAL DIPLOMACY EXCHANGE
Today’s fast-paced, developing digital environment is based on technological advancement and the application of new interconnected digital tools and communication methods. In this digital landscape, governments are faced with opportunities and challenges in establishing efficient communication bridges with their citizens and audience, to comprehensively facilitate and support an information economy that is defined by free speech, open debate, and the free sharing of truthful information.
The European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) is a project designed to enhance the capabilities of government communicators in navigating the rapidly evolving digital information space. Its activities and formats provide essential knowledge and skills to government communicators, digital diplomats, public relations specialists, and other digital experts alike, creating a unique intergovernmental network.
EDDE’s goal is to ensure that governments are equipped with the right tools, strategies, and understanding to engage in digital diplomacy effectively. This includes providing training on a wide range of topics, such as strategic communication, public affairs and public diplomacy, as well as practical skills for leveraging digital tools and social media platforms.
EDDE today brings together more than 630 governmental communicators and stakeholders from more than 20 countries, and by doing so, it helps to create a platform for cooperation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building. Through continuous learning and cooperation, EDDE remains a key initiative for advancing digital diplomacy and ensuring that governments can navigate the complexities of the digital information age with confidence and competence.
