September’s International Humanitarian and Criminal Law Course
On 16 and 17 September 2026, POTC, in cooperation with the Slovenian Armed Forces Legal Department, will organise the International Humanitarian and Criminal Law Training at Jable Castle.
POTC organises the training as a platform for professional discussion, the exchange of experience, and an in-depth exploration of current challenges in international humanitarian and criminal law.
The training is intended for legal advisers and other professionals working in the field of international humanitarian and criminal law. Through expert presentations and discussions, this year’s programme will address current legal issues while providing participants with an opportunity to exchange views and good practices.
This year’s training will cover the following topics:
- withdrawal from the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention and the Convention on Cluster Munitions, and the obligations of allied states;
- Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty;
- the Venezuela–Iran case study;
- command responsibility as a doctrine of international criminal law.
