Strategic Communications: From Strategy to Strategic Effect
From 3 to 5 November 2026, a three-day training course, “Strategic Communications: From Strategy to Strategic Effect”, organised by the Peace Operations Training Centre (POTC), will take place at Jable Castle, Slovenia.
Today’s security environment is characterised by increasing competition in the information space, fragmented audiences, the rapid development of artificial intelligence, and increasingly complex forms of information influence. In this environment, strategic communication goes beyond delivering messages: it requires aligning strategic objectives, actions, and communication to achieve desired effects.
The three-day training will guide participants through a process of understanding, designing and responding – from analysing the information environment and audiences to developing narratives, planning strategic communication activities and responding to complex information threats. Attention will also be devoted to Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), disinformation, artificial intelligence and the future information environment.
The training will combine strategic and practical perspectives on communication, providing participants with an opportunity to consider how strategic objectives can be translated into communication activities and desired effects, as well as how institutions can respond to the rapidly evolving challenges of the information environment.
The training is primarily intended for representatives of government institutions and the public sector working in strategic communications, public communication, policy development, and responses to information threats.
