6. novembra 2025 smo organizirali seminar »Prebojne vojaške tehnologije in prakse«, posvečen vplivu nastajajočih in prebojnih tehnologij na strateške odločitve ter operativne zmogljivosti v kontekstu mednarodnega miru in varnosti.

Seminarja, ki je bil organiziran v tesnem sodelovanju z Oddelkom za vojaško tehnologijo, raziskave in razvoj Ministrstva za obrambo, so se udeležili predstavniki Ministrstva za obrambo in Slovenske vojske, pri izvedbi pa je sodelovala tudi vrsta uglednih strokovnjakov s področja vojaških tehnologij, inovacij ter povezanih visokotehnoloških raziskav in industrije, ki sodelujejo pri projektih Ministrstva za obrambo Republike Slovenije.
V okviru seminarja so bile obravnavane ključne teme, med njimi:
- pomen nastajajočih in prebojnih tehnologij za prihodnje vojaške in varnostne zmogljivosti,
- pregled strateških dokumentov Republike Slovenije na področju obrambe in varnosti,
- predstavitev NATO pospeševalnika DIANA ter projektov Evropske obrambne agencije in Evropskega obrambnega sklada,
- povezovanje raziskovalnih projektov ARIS CRP z obrambnimi potrebami in mednarodnimi iniciativami.
Udeleženci so pridobili poglobljen vpogled v tehnološke trende, ki bodo v prihodnosti oblikovali nacionalno in zavezniško varnostno okolje. Seminar se je zaključil z živahno razpravo, v kateri so udeleženci izmenjali izkušnje, stališča in predloge za nadaljnje sodelovanje na področju raziskav, razvoja ter implementacije naprednih tehnologij v obrambnem sistemu Republike Slovenije.
Seminar je znova potrdil pomembnost sodelovanja med obrambnim sektorjem in raziskovalnimi ustanovami pri oblikovanju sodobnih zmogljivosti za zagotavljanje miru, varnosti in tehnološke suverenosti.

After two successful outings, the Peace Operations Training Centre (POTC) is organising the third edition of the activity on disruptive military technologies and practices. The seminar will take place on November 27, 2024, at Jable Castle in Mengeš.

The programme includes lectures on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, Slovenian-made drones, cybersecurity, neuroscience and its implications for modern warfare, as well as space technologies.
Participants will gain valuable insights into the security challenges of the future and have the opportunity to discuss new security approaches with leading experts.
Those who attend the entire seminar will receive an official certificate of participation. Registrations are open until November 10, 2024, and participation is free of charge. Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided.

On the 30th of November, the last training of 2023, the Disruptive Military Practices & Technologies Training, was held at POTC’s home base – Jable Castle, for a group of dedicated participants, mainly coming from the Slovenian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.

The aim of the training was to address the emergence of new technologies and practices in the security and defence field, which have the potential to disrupt. More concretely, the sessions focused on the following subjects:
- Space Weather: insights into the influence of space weather on critical infrastructure;
- Space Technologies and their Applications: the latest developments in space technologies and their practical applications in the defence sector;
- EU Technological Sovereignty: addressing the crucial topic of maintaining technological sovereignty within the European Union;
- The Disruptive Potential of AI in the Field of Security: understanding the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on national and international security.
The participants of the training had the chance to hear about and discuss important topics with leading lecturers whose insights were invaluable. The training was not short on new and emerging concepts and terms such as digital twins, rare earth mineral dependence, space storms, satellite flood mapping, failure prediction and information warfare.
With this, POTC’s training activities for 2023 have been concluded. We are more than pleased to have facilitated a wide array of training activities this year and are excited about what is coming in 2024.

The aim of the Disruptive Military Practices & Technologies Training is to address the emergence of new threats and opportunities in the security and defence field. More concretely, the sessions will focus on the following subjects:

- EU Technological Sovereignty: addressing the crucial topic of maintaining technological sovereignty within the European Union;
