Extended: Apply for Young BSF 2026 by 26 April

Applications for the Young Bled Strategic Forum 2026 are now open until 26 April.

We’re looking for young professionals (18–35) from diverse backgrounds — policy, security, tech, business, civil society and beyond — who are curious, engaged, and ready to contribute to global discussions.

This year’s forum, titled “After the Rupture: Agency and Resilience in a Fragmented World” will focus on questions of agency and resilience in an increasingly complex and fragmented international environment. Participants will explore how individuals, institutions, and societies interpret global disruptions and how these interpretations shape their capacity to act.

Join a platform where you don’t just attend — you actively shape the conversation.

Invitation to a Roundtable: Humanitarian Mine Action: Toward a World Free from Explosive Threats

Invitation to a Roundtable: Humanitarian Mine Action: Toward a World Free from Explosive Threats

Our colleague Samo Selimović, POTC Coordinator, will be moderating an upcoming roundtable: “Humanitarian Mine Action: Toward a World Free from Explosive Threats.”

Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ANAMA, and ITF Enhancing Human Security, this event marks the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

Landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXOs) remain a critical threat to human security, with over 6,000 victims recorded in 2024 alone—90% of whom were civilians. As demining is a fundamental enabler of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, this discussion will explore lessons learned and technical solutions for a mine-free world.

You are kindly invited to join us!

Date: 17 April 2026 | 10.30 – 12.30

Venue: Grand Plaza Hotel (Safir 1 Conference Room), Ljubljana

EUTI Training – Call for Applications: EU Human Rights and Due Diligence Policy (HRDDP) Training

The Egmont Institute, under the auspices of EUTI – European Union Training Initiative, will hold EU Human Rights and Due Diligence Policy (HRDDP) Training.

The call for applications is now open.

This course supports the European Union’s commitment to ensuring compliance with international human rights and humanitarian law in crisis management. It is designed to help participants operationalize the 2024 EU HRDDP and the 2025 HRDDP Implementation Handbook through practical capacity-building and realistic scenarios. As such is closely related to the recently held Training of Trainers for Human Right Advisors (HRA): Mainstreaming Human Rights into Civilian Crisis Management Missions’ Internal and External Activities: using a HRBA approach.

Training dates: 8–10 June 2026

Training location: Hotel Barsey by Warwick, Brussels, Belgium

Target Group: Primarily personnel from CFSP/CSDP civilian and military missions and European Peace Facility (EPF) staff.

Capacity: Approximately 20 participants.

Priority: Given to Human Rights and Gender Advisors/Focal Points, though legal advisors and operations department colleagues are welcome.

The aim of the training is to strengthen participants’ ability to operationalize the EU HRDDP by applying Human Rights due diligence in realistic scenarios, thereby supporting more effective, conflict-sensitive, and accountable EU crisis management interventions while reducing the risk of human rights and IHL violations.

More information—including details on the participant mix, course modules, key learning outcomes, and logistical arrangements—is available in the call for applications.
